AI and software for industrial companies
Connect production workflows, technical documents and project portfolios. T-NEX works with operations and IT to define a practical first deployment.
Learn moreT-NEX is an AI software company with its registered office in Horn-Bad Meinberg, Lippe district, and an office in Paderborn. For businesses in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL), we build software that extends the systems they already use: an AI chatbot, AI knowledge management, AI reporting, workflow automation and custom business applications. Our software for inspection service providers is in use at AP Prüfservice. We start with one process that creates work in your business every week.

For managing directors, production managers, work planners, office teams and IT in businesses across East Westphalia-Lippe and North Rhine-Westphalia.
In mid-sized manufacturers with 250 or more employees, a lot of work gets stuck between systems. The instruction at the workstation is older than the file in the office, and feedback from the shop floor no longer matches the work plan. T-NEX builds business applications that connect the ERP system with production. IT, data protection and the works council are involved from the start, because software on the shop floor almost always touches employee data as well.
In skilled trades and smaller firms (SMEs), the question is usually about office work. Enquiries and quotations should be ready sooner, incoming invoices should reach accounting without retyping, and the existing trade software stays in place. In Bitkom's survey of 504 skilled-trade businesses in summer 2025, 96% named concerns about IT security and data protection as a barrier to digitalisation. So we first clarify which data goes where and who can see it.
Inspection and maintenance service providers lose time on the way from the site back to the office. What was inspected, photographed and signed on site should reach the invoice complete, together with the working time. For this, T-NEX offers its software for inspection service providers. The office plans the job and the field team records the inspection on a mobile device, even without a network connection. A connection to JTL-Wawi is part of it.
Five offers fit almost every business: custom software development, workflow automation, an AI chatbot, AI knowledge management and AI reporting. An AI chatbot, a solution for AI knowledge management and AI reporting are available; the software for inspection service providers is a standard product. We assemble the chatbot and knowledge management from existing components for your process, and the same goes for document AI and workflow automation. The table shows which starting point suits which task.
| Area | Typical task | Suitable starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Management and commercial leadership | Query key figures from existing data without ordering every report from IT | AI reporting |
| Management and project office | Plan initiatives, responsibilities and capacity across projects | Project portfolio management (T-NEX PPM) |
| Production and work planning | Connect work plans, instructions and shop-floor feedback | Custom development; example: the MONTEE customer project, not a T-NEX standard MES |
| Quality and engineering | Find approved work instructions and technical documents with their source | AI knowledge management |
| Sales and customer service | Answer recurring product and service questions | AI chatbot |
| Office and administration | Take over data from invoices and forms; connect approvals between teams | Document AI, workflow automation |
| Field service and inspection | Plan inspection jobs, record on site, release reports | Software for inspection service providers |
| Not yet sure which process comes first | Test one task against criteria agreed in advance | AI pilot |
The software for inspection service providers is a T-NEX standard product and is in use at the technical inspection service provider AP Prüfservice. Jobs come from JTL-Wawi. Office and field staff work on the same record; inspections are recorded on mobile devices, and the job manager releases the report.
T-NEX worked on the MONTEE manufacturing application. It connects work plans from the office with guided steps at the operator terminal; feedback and quality checks stay attached to the operation. The product belongs to MONTEE. It is a customer project and not a T-NEX standard MES.
2DC is a T-NEX customer: for A5Hub, a brand of 2DC GmbH, T-NEX worked on a project portfolio management application. 2DC GmbH is based in Bielefeld. T-NEX PPM is our own product for project portfolio management; A5Hub is a separate project reference.
For Violet Dragonfly, the AI knowledge platform of the Swiss company thinking services ag, T-NEX is a development partner. The platform combines curated expertise with AI-assisted answers. Questions that need professional review are passed on to a human expert. The product provider is thinking services ag.
Who can access our data? T-NEX develops with a team in Germany and a development team with an office in Kuala Lumpur. Before the start, we record which people from which countries get access for development and support, together with the matching agreements. A general promise does not replace this overview.
Does the works council have to be involved? If an application is suitable for monitoring the behaviour or performance of employees, Section 87(1) no. 6 of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG) applies. Before the selection, T-NEX therefore shows which data is recorded, which evaluations are possible and who may see them. The works council can then discuss what the application actually records.
Will our ERP or inventory management system remain the system of record? That is your decision. Before the start, we agree which data the application reads and what it writes back. At AP Prüfservice, jobs come from JTL-Wawi; the planning and inspection software adds to the inventory management system and does not replace it.
Will we become dependent on T-NEX? Where the source code is kept and how the handover works is agreed before the project starts, and so is the review process. Whether T-NEX components are used also depends on the matching usage rights.
What happens if the pilot does not hold up? The goal and the criteria for scaling up or stopping are set beforehand. Stopping can be a sensible result if the data or the overall effort speaks against using the application.
How far a business is organisationally often matters more than the technology. In the German-language podcast “Ausgesprochen digital”, Katrin Fischer of Telekom MMS, introduced in the episode as a consultant for digital innovation, calls this a question of feasibility and explicitly includes the organisational side, such as roles in the project and existing knowledge. Our translation of the German original quoted below: “And feasibility, as I mentioned earlier: technically, a lot is feasible these days, but sometimes companies are not that far along yet.”
„Und Machbarkeit, ich hatte es vorhin schon mal angesprochen, technisch ist vieles machbar mittlerweile, aber manchmal sind die Unternehmen gar nicht so weit.“
T-NEX publishes the register “AI providers in OWL and NRW”. As of 20 October 2026, it lists 634 providers in North Rhine-Westphalia, 303 of them in East Westphalia-Lippe: Bielefeld 84, Paderborn district 82, Gütersloh district 39, Lippe district 33, Minden-Lübbecke district 30, Herford district 27 and Höxter district 8. The figures describe the register, not the market. T-NEX appears in it as the marked publisher entry in the Lippe district. The data is available as CSV and JSON under CC BY 4.0.
Across Germany, 57% of companies with 250 or more employees use AI, compared with 36% of companies with 50 to 249 and 23% of companies with 10 to 49 employees (Destatis, ICT in enterprises 2025, tables as of 24 November 2025). Large companies that have considered AI but do not use it yet mainly cite a lack of knowledge (67%) and data protection concerns (63%) in the same Destatis survey; only 26% cite excessive costs.
In the Arbeitswelt.Plus competence centre, universities and companies from OWL accompanied AI projects in businesses of the region for around five years. In its closing report of 17 April 2026, the accompanying research of Paderborn University names overarching findings that include a clear goal before choosing a tool and transparency towards employees. The project is not a T-NEX reference.

Choose the process: one typical case with its exceptions, the systems involved and one contact each from the business side and IT.
Clarify data and connections: provide sample data and access, name the systems of record and note from which countries people will access the data.
Test a draft or pilot: check typical cases and exceptions against criteria agreed in advance.
Build and accept the scope: review functions, permissions and handovers together.
Arrange operation: record who looks after the application, what it costs to run and how a later handover works.
Effort depends mainly on how much the application has to do, how much data preparation it needs and how many systems it connects to; operation comes on top. A knowledge search over curated sources is smaller than an application that spans several business processes. What T-NEX delivers, what your team contributes, when each part is ready and how billing works are agreed before the project starts.
Yes. T-NEX GmbH has its registered office in Horn-Bad Meinberg, Lippe district (Lemgo Local Court, HRB 11526), and an office in Paderborn. Development runs with a team in Germany and a development team with an office in Kuala Lumpur. The offer applies to businesses in OWL and throughout Germany.
Yes, at Obermeiers Feld 9, 33104 Paderborn. The company's registered office remains Horn-Bad Meinberg, Freiligrathstraße 2. How to reach us for a meeting is set out in the section “T-NEX in Horn-Bad Meinberg and Paderborn”.
Not necessarily. T-NEX also builds extensions to existing applications and checks, based on your task, which interfaces they need. At AP Prüfservice, JTL-Wawi remains the inventory management system from which the jobs are taken over.
With one recurring case, some sample data and the result you would like to see. A limited pilot shows whether quality and overall effort justify scaling up. How you measure that, for example by handling time or rework, is agreed beforehand.
We only name fixed amounts once we know the project. Our offer shows set-up and development separately from running services and support, so you can assess one-off and recurring costs on their own. If the scope is still open, a limited pilot shows what to expect for scaling up.
This is defined in the workflow. For documents, your team checks recognised values against the original. For knowledge answers, source references and an agreed route for questions the application cannot answer help. The business sign-off stays with you.
In our register “AI providers in OWL and NRW”. It lists 634 entries, 303 of them in East Westphalia-Lippe, as of 20 October 2026. The T-NEX entry is marked as the publisher's entry. The data is available as CSV and JSON under CC BY 4.0; a listing is not a recommendation.
