GRC software for resilience & business continuity:
20 providers with AI classification.
In short: The T-NEX GRC provider register lists 20 providers for business impact analysis, contingency planning and exercises, as of 18 October 2026. Of these, 15 document specific AI functions (75%), most often for the business impact analysis as well as continuity and recovery planning. In Germany, Austria or Switzerland, three have a documented headquarters, two of them in Germany.

Neither completeness nor a general suitability for banks is claimed. Providers are listed alphabetically. The order is not a performance rating.
All 682 GRC providers in the market overview · 379 European GRC providers
Publisher: T-NEX GmbH. Andreas Unruh and Christoph Gembruch are managing directors of T-NEX. This editorial market overview is based on vendor sources and specialist primary sources. It contains no ranking and is not based on a joint product test. The market overview covers 682 providers from GRC and adjacent specialist areas. Acquired brands and former product names are not counted separately. Methodology and sources
What is resilience and business continuity management (BCM) software used for?
Business continuity management (BCM) software supports business impact analysis (BIA), business continuity and recovery plans, exercises and tests, and communication and coordination during a crisis. The German MaRisk calls BCM emergency management (Notfallmanagement). Under the label operational resilience, some vendors add ICT recovery, dependencies on service providers and monitoring of critical events. Before an incident, seven providers document AI for continuity and recovery planning and four for exercise and test scenarios. Once an event is under way, five providers use AI to evaluate events and alerts or to draft crisis communication.
- No specific AI function in the sources checked: 5 entries
- Documented AI use cases by topic, an entry can count more than once: Business impact analysis (8)
- Documented headquarters in Europe: 12 of 20 providers, headquarters not separately checked: 8
Questions for the demo, derived from the five criteria of the comparison:
- Do the business impact analysis, the contingency plan and the exercise use the same processes, systems and dependencies?
- How do lessons from an exercise flow back as measures, and who follows them up to completion?
How often does a bank have to review its contingency plan?
Every year for critical or important functions, under MaRisk AT 7.3 para. 4 (Circular 06/2026). Reviews are documented and analysed for improvements, and service providers have to be involved appropriately. The contingency plan itself is updated annually and whenever there is cause (para. 1). On the ICT side, Article 11(6) DORA requires the ICT business continuity plans and the ICT response and recovery plans to be tested at least yearly, and also after any substantive change to ICT systems supporting critical or important functions.
What goes into a business impact analysis?
The consequences that an impairment of activities and processes can have for business operations over graduated periods, taking into account, among other things, the nature and extent of tangible and intangible damage and the time of the outage (explanatory note to MaRisk AT 7.3 para. 1). The basis is an overview of all functions. Under Article 11(5) DORA, the BIA assesses the potential impact of severe business disruptions against quantitative and qualitative criteria and takes into account the criticality of business functions, support processes, third-party dependencies and information assets.
Has DORA replaced emergency management under MaRisk?
No. DORA covers the ICT side in Articles 11 and 12, with a business continuity policy, response and recovery plans and backups. Alongside it, MaRisk AT 7.3 (Circular 06/2026) requires a contingency plan for activities and processes that constitute critical or important functions, including their necessary support processes. The two can be linked via Article 11(1) DORA: the ICT business continuity policy may be adopted as a dedicated policy that forms an integral part of the overall business continuity policy.
Which providers of GRC software for resilience & business continuity are headquartered in Germany, Austria or Switzerland?
Of the 20 providers, three have a documented headquarters in Germany, Austria or Switzerland: in Germany Controllit and Nica Software; in Austria safeREACH. For eight further providers, the headquarters has not been checked separately; they are not included in this list. Headquarters means the seat of the provider entity named in the entry, documented by the entry's location source (imprint, legal texts, official contact and company pages, occasionally official registers); it says nothing about ownership, hosting or data storage.

Missing evidence does not mean that the provider has no AI functions. Vendor documentation does not replace a product test. Licence, pilot status and availability are listed with the provider. Unchecked locations are hidden in a regional selection; this does not mean they are regarded as non-European. The location is not evidence of ownership structure, hosting or regulatory suitability.

Register entry: T-NEX Banking Platform (DE, AI evidenced)
In the Banking Platform, business impact analysis and contingency planning start from the process map in process management, to which applications, infrastructure and contracts are linked. The AI drafts the BIA form with proposals for tolerable downtime and the recovery objective, and the business unit carries out the assessment. Findings from an exercise go into task execution as a measure with a due date. In the T-NEX AI Risk Manager, the outage of a central service can be examined as a scenario, with affected risks, potentially impaired controls and suggested actions. The result is a textual working hypothesis, not a quantitative stress test. If an application maintained by T-NEX is disrupted, T-NEX support provides a timeline and root-cause findings, which can help the institution with an incident report.
